How It Started

Realign Podiatry was founded by a passionate and dedicated podiatrist from Miri, Sarawak, Malaysia. During her studies, she recognized the lack of lower limb care and awareness in her community, which inspired her to pursue advanced expertise in podiatry with the goal of bringing this essential care back home.

Realign Podiatry is built on her commitment to providing high-quality, personalised services to improve mobility, relieve pain, and promote healthier living within her community. At Realign Podiatry, every patient is treated with care, compassion, and a focus on helping them walk pain-free.

Background

Shirley is a Malaysian-Chinese who was born and raised in Miri, a beautiful coastal city on the island of Borneo. She has always had a passion for healthcare, which inspired her to pursue podiatry as her profession.

Shirley completed her podiatric training and education at the University of Newcastle in Australia. Prior to founding Realign Podiatry, she gained extensive experience in podiatry, having worked in diverse practice settings across multiple countries.

Through her exposure to a diverse range of foot conditions, she developed extensive expertise in managing and creating individualised treatment plans for various lower limb issues.

Introduction

Shirley’s passion for podiatry was reaffirmed during her time at university, where she was awarded the Faculty of Health and Medicine Medal. In recognition of her outstanding academic achievements, she was also a recipient of the Faculty Scholars Program. As an active member of the Australian Podiatric Association (APodA), Shirley stays current with the latest clinical research through ongoing professional development, ensuring she provides the most evidence-based treatments for her patients.

Having worked closely with one of the orthotic laboratories during her time in Australia, Shirley also has extensive knowledge in orthotic prescription and manufacturing.

After years of dedicated training and careful planning, Shirley started Realign Podiatry, driven by her passion for podiatry and her commitment to delivering high-quality care to her patients.
